Guided Lovingkindness Meditation

My favorite definition of lovingkindness, “unconditional positive regard,” is credited to American psychologist Carl Rogers (1902-1987).
The classic lovingkindness meditation in this recording is practiced by members of various Buddhist schools, and non-Buddhist meditators too. With this non-sectarian contemplative process, the heart of compassion opens and benevolent caring extends from you in ever-widening circles.
The guided meditation (8:40 minutes) invites you to radiate lovingkindness toward yourself, people (or non-human animals) in your life, and outward and beyond to others that you don’t know.
I invite you to get comfortable, listen, and open your heart-mind. Then, notice what happens.
May it be of benefit.
